Recycling

One thing I dont like is I work for a company that does not recycle paper. And I dont understand why. Its an office building, we go through a ton of paper and it all gets throw in the garbage along with everything else. Ive asked a few of my co-workers and they just say I dont know why we never did. I think I should go to my boss about this. It really bothers me.

years ago, I worked for a HUGE medical center --they also did not recycle paper --and it also really bothered me. several of us got together and started a "recycling campaign". We had huge sheets of paper upon which lab reports were printed --some of my co-workers began taking home the excess (the extra sheet that printed with every patient's results) and allowing their children to draw and paint on the paper. Eventually, the medical center began recycling and now - because so much more is done on the computer - there isn't as much paper generated as there was ten years ago. But---to this day --I still have trouble throwing ANYTHING away --surely it can be RECYCLED SOMEHOW!

All the power to ya, I hate when people don't recycle, especially paper. Bring it up, worse they can say is no we don't recycle, that you already know.

Well our company used to pretend to recycle with the blue bins and all that and then it would all get thrown into the garbage by the cleaners. But now we have a environmental guy who controls the recycling, which I'm very happy about. I'm always going on about destroying our trees and forests. Maybe you could talk to your boss and ask if you could contact a recycling company in your area to put in those big blue bins in a central area of your office and then have that company pick up once a week or something. Seems ridiculous that a company wouldn't want to do SOMETHING to help the environment.
